Hows it going?

Often success can be measured by the strength of one's partnerships. We are extremely grateful to have talent recruiters and hiring managers from Northrop Grumman, come to our facility to interview our students. By the end of a long emotional day, Northrop had offered all 15 students full-time job positions, giving our 5th training cohort a 100% hired rate!

This opportunity would not be possible without your continued support and investment in the program.

Together we grow. From students to staff, this last semester taught us so much. It's not only about the lessons we pass off to younger generations, but the valuable lessons we learn from them. Patience, everyone learns at a different speed. Communication, to hear what is not being said. Time, giving someone that extra time creates that sense of belonging that we all desperately need.

Hard Work Pays Off

"My hard work has been paying off, definitely in getting a great new job, and getting close to finishing my bachelor of science. What motivated me to go into fabrication and manufacturing was wanting to get to work, for one, but I really wanted to learn how to make things with my hands and build things from scratch. I'm a chef, so I love to cook and make things from scratch, and that definitely translates to my work. I think manufacturing is very creative, I found something that I like to do that will lead me in a great direction, which is an amazing pay off in my life. I want to move up in my job, that's one thing I'm working towards. I'm a welder right now at Cinnabar California Inc. I got an interview when I was in the program and It's a great position, but hopefully I'll move up even higher. I also hope to get to a point in my life soon to be able to buy my family a home."

Trust Your Hustle

"I’m happy I kicked ass and now I have a cool job. I got an interview through the program at Stratolaunch, and I started off in the manufacturing side of the company but I moved up to the electrical department. My hard work has been paying off in creating new job opportunities for sure, and opening new doors to a world of possibilities. There are a bunch of new things I'm open to trying that I wouldn't have been open to before. Now with a little experience, I know that I'm capable of a lot more. There are so many specific niches in manufacturing, so you can definitely find your place in doing something you love. My quality of life has honestly skyrocketed since graduating, I have a new high-paying job and a new house, and I get to be responsible and independent now which is an amazing new feeling. Living in Mojave you see a lot of planes and hear them all the time, and it is inspiring to do what I want and be hands-on while getting this experience in this environment of aerospace that I find so interesting. I want more hands-on experience for when I finish my degree in engineering, just honing my skills is something I'm working towards."

" HARD WORK PAYS OFF "

After years of working with students in our after-school program, we realized one of the biggest struggles our young people faced after turning 18 was landing that first job.

We teamed up with the City of Lancaster, Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE), and America’s Job Center (AJCC) to create the Lost Angels Work Program. This paid 12-week work program is designed to help transition-age youth (18-24-year-olds), in the community find good-paying jobs in the manufacturing field. Students get hands-on training in welding and fabrication, electrical, composites, auto body, and paint.
